We are at a Crossroads

Well Friend,
The time has come to talk about the reality of Tariffs. We can no longer hope it's a bluff, because we are already experiencing price hikes at our producer level. This includes threads, dyes, notions, books, wooden materials, metal materials, packing materials, boxes, printed materials, ribbons and of course, our Premium Wools.
You see, like a fine tailor who seeks the best wool for their suits, WoolyLady has enjoyed the power of Open Markets, in seeking the finest wools in the world for your heirloom project. Because like us, these quilts, mats, pillows and wall hangings are keepsakes. This is why we include a cedar flower in our non-closeout Kits. These are Canadian. As are our ribbons, and much of our packaging. We have always been an American company, and much prefer to shop in North America than just about anywhere.
But back to our wool. Like for fine suits, wool is no longer milled in the USA to the standard we require – and you demand – for your designs. This is what makes us different: that we have absorbed the continual inflation hike on our Premium Wool because the weight, the quality, the weave and the feel all matter to you. But we cannot absorb a 25% price hike. And we're unhappy that we need to pass this price rise on to our customers.
As of 3/15/2025, WoolyLady will be forced to place a 25% surcharge on every yard of our hand-dyed wool. We will be able to offer volume discounts, but our offering will certainly be more retracted after Tariffs take hold. Due to the impact on our inventory, we may need to cull several wool colors to get our Library back down from 130 Premium Wools.
This has, of course, impacted the rollout of our regular Web Store, at WoolyLady.com. Frankly, we're not sure whether our customers can sustain such a price hike. We have tried very hard to make wool accessible, and our Closeouts Site has proven our dedication, especially considering the steady growth we had been experiencing during the last two years. However, we are now at a crossroads.

WoolyLady.com Status Update
As you may be aware, WoolyLady.com is being redesigned and reimagined. Due to uncertainty in the business world and a need for a more centralized way of interfacing with our valued Customers, we shelved the traditional Web Store that we had been working on for almost two years. Thanks to an amazing design and development team, we were able to "change horses" and develop not one, but two new sites.
We are nearing the end of our pre-Beta phase. We expect WoolyLady.com 2.0 will roll out very soon.
Developer's Notes
02/13/25: Integrated a Loyalty System, new Customer Interface System, a private AI Chat Assisted Search function, "before and after Gallery" and integrated a Secure Blog Platform. We will continue the automated tests to ensure maximum connectivity. Our new infrastructure can maintain a constant userbase of 10,000 users at a time. For reference: WoolyLady.com 1.0 site allowed 5 concurrent users in the store at a time.
2/21/25: Reaching the end of this Dev Phase. Expect to enter testing and/or provisional Domain testing in the next 10 days.
2/28/25: Full security phase. Pre-testing credit card and payment gateways, hardening and proofing entries and interactions. Added new Pre-Order System.
3/14/25: Finishing Blog outputs and YouTube connections. Adding custom member chat interface.

Pre-Orders, Special Orders and Backorders
Pre-Orders
Savvy WoolyLady customers have always known that when we give you a sneak peek, you are ALWAYS free to Pre-Order it. We accept Pre-Orders via email, phone or Chat. For instance, when we announce the release of a Kit for the following Friday, you are welcome to Pre-Order that Kit anytime before it's officially released. This doesn't apply to every item, and some brand-new Kits will not be available through this process.
Special Orders
We welcome your creativity and hope you'll feel free to engage with us on anything you'd like. Whether it's a standing order of adding a Hand Thread Kit to your Kit purchase, or an Extra like a notion or tool, or even down to changing the wool color for a particular item, let us know! We accept Special Orders via phone, email or Chat. Wool color substitutions may incur delay or a small service fee. We'll tell you right up front.
Backorders
We have added an automated Backorder and Pre-Order system to our websites and stores, so that you can order any items we carry. For now, we will only use this system on select items such as Hand Thread Kits and some Extras.
How to use it? When you shop on our online stores, some items will show Out Of Stock, while others will show a Pre-Order Badge. Order with confidence! You will be able to see when we expect the item to ship, and how soon you should expect it to arrive.

WoolyLady did not want this. The United States Government has chosen to penalize us for having a long and cherished relationship.
We want you to know that we stand by you. Even if it means you cease speaking to us or shopping with us. This is expressly why we have changed most of our verbiage to invite folks to Window Shop with us. An invitation with respect, and this is also why we're proud to show off our products via YouTube. We want you to enjoy them, even if it's only with your eyes and/or ears.
We cannot know what the future holds. We will always be your family, friends and allies.

Dear WoolyFriend,
We hope this letter finds you well! I want to talk to you about something important that affects our hand-dyed wool products that we make right here in our beloved Colorado.
Recently, the U.S. government has changed some import rules, called tariffs, on products WoolyLady needs in order to create our premium-quality hand-dyed wool. When we manufacture many of our products, we rely on trading partners who operate older technology, like premium-weight/grain/texture wool mills, or dye manufacturers whose recipes have been in existence for more than a century. In other words, exclusive, and exclusively from a trading partner country!
Furthermore we choose the finest threads in the world for the completion of every WoolyLady Wool Kit. These come from trading partners that are presently affected by earlier tariffs. We have already weathered this process once, with zero effect to you, the consumer – in fact, WoolyLady has resisted raising its prices since 2017. Our workforce has been, regrettably, hit with layoffs, with the remainder of us picking up the extra slack. WoolyLady is at its heart a top-down company, where the Ownership and Executives can each operate every task under them. However, especially after the long-term effects of COVID, the mismanagement of which led to enormous price inflation on everyday goods and shipping, we will not be able to sustain another betrayal, another price shock from our own government.
What Now
This means that the cost of getting wool from other countries has gone up. There are no alternative wool mills in the USA. Because of this, we will need to raise our prices a bit, especially for our high-quality, heavyweight wool. When our new WoolyLady.com website launches, we expect prices to increase by up to 25%.
We want you to know that we have done, and are doing everything we can to keep costs down. Our goal is to keep providing you with the best wool in the world, while managing these changes.
Even with the price increase, we believe our hand-dyed wools are still a great choice for your fun projects and businesses. Our products are made with care and quality, and we appreciate your support. And you will be surprised when you see our overall price reduction throughout almost our entire collection of Wool Kits thanks in part to efficiency upgrades.

Protecting Our Relationship
Considering Social Media: WoolyLady is officially withdrawing all advertising from all Meta Platforms. This follows our defined Data Policy where WoolyLady content will never appear alongside propaganda, disinformation or dangerously unscientific posts.
This means WoolyLady will no longer contribute to or add any new content to Facebook, Instagram or Threads. We appreciate the relationships we've built with you over the years, but these Social Media Platforms present a clear and present danger to our business and its reputation.
This further reinforces our Twitter/X Policy where we have banned the X App from all devices and deleted our content.
